Meilin has had no interest in wearing sunglasses until today! She was in Kailei's room and she had taken her sunglasses so I ran and got hers. As you can tell from the last picture, she wasn't too sure but as time went on she wouldn't take them off and she thought she looked pretty cool!
My family and I try to spend as much time as possible at the lake. The children enjoy playing in the sand and swimming in the cystal clear water. It is a peaceful setting for adults as well. Picnic areas and wooden adirondeck chairs grace the woods. We are so fortunate to live in such a beautiful state.
My parents and I took the girls to Lyman Orchards for their blueberry festival. We rode on horse drawn wagons, Meilin LOVED the horses. Kailei had her face painted while we listened to a country western band play. Then it was off to the blueberry and raspberry patches. The girls enjoyed picking and eating the fruit! After picking we had dinner outside by the water. It was a great summer day!
I found my girls laughing and reading books after a bath the other night. Meilin loves books just like her big sister. Meilin is sleeping peacefully through the night now. No more night terrors or nap terrors. She cries when I put her in but only for about 2 minutes and then she is fast asleep. She sleeps 12 hours a night and takes a 2 1/2-3 hour nap daily. Oh...life is good!
Kailei has always been a Papa's girl. She has had him tied around his finger for the past 7 years!! Meilin also lights up when she sees Papa. She runs to him and lifts her arms and says, "UP!" Kailei isn't too thrilled with this arrangement but as you can see his heart and his lap have room for two!
Mmmm, Mmmm Good!! Thank you Kristin for introducing me to cake. It was YUMMY!! Kristin and Meilin are now the best of buds. My girls and I are going to miss you Kristin. You are a true friend!
Today we spent the day at the beach with wonderful friends and their children. Meilin and Kailei had such a great time. Both the girls love the water, playing in the sand and spending time with friends. Oh, how I LOVE summer!!.
I bought Mei Mei and Jie Jie t-shirts in China. The girls wore them when we went out for ice cream at the farm tonight. I decided it was a good opportunity for photos.
Happy Fourth of July! We spent the fourth at my brother's house, cooking out and enjoying time with family. Kailei adores her cousins and Meilin is also loving them. We welcomed home Gavin Paul on Friday. He is as cute as a button and so sweet! Next year he will be following the big kids.
My dad and I took the girls to the Granville Scoop today. They have a petting zoo and homemade ice cream! Both the girls enjoyed the chickens. Meilin was not fond of the goats but she liked all the other animals. It is a dream come true to have both my girls home and enjoying life's adventures together!
One month ago a very sad and scared little girl was placed in my arms. It was an emotional day for all! It is amazing to me how far she has come in a such a short time. More healing is needed for her little heart but her family is here for her. The sad face once seen has now been replaced with smiles and silly faces!
