Powerful

My friend Kristin sent this poem to me and I thought it was powerful.

Every call has a beginning A quiet moment when God whispers a promise to a mother’s heart A holy place where a father bows and faithfully accepts the journey set before him. A miraculous morning that unexpectedly dawns…Casting its first light on a chosen threshold. A gentle knock..a closed door opens. A sacred invitation sent by the Father..Leads to the other side of the world. Where lonely hearts stare out orphanage windows Praying for someone to care.. And then one morning, On an ordinary day An orphan’s life changes...God sends them a second chance...Through you..

Curls You Say??

Yesterday at dancing Kailei and I had a lesson on makeup. The girls must wear certain colors for competition along with fake eyelashes, that should be interesting! I was also told that for her jazz dance her hair needs to be in a half pony with layers of curls. Curls?? With her silky, straight hair. We will see. Tonight we went out and bought the soft rollers. She looks a bit Swedish in the picture. Supposedly she will wake up in the morning and she will have spiral curls. Only time will tell. My dad bought her a makeup kit for her dance makeup. The girl is in heaven!! Kailei also tried on her jazz costume at home. I was not there to put it on her on Monday so I was unsure about where the straps go but I'm sure we will figure it out by March 7. Kailei is thrilled with her costumes and will willingly dress in them and dance for any audience. She certainly is a Fancy Nancy! Her world is a stage right now!

Gung Hay Fat Choy

Last night we celebrated Chinese New Year with good friends. All of them have children from China or are waiting to bring their sweet babies home! They are a wonderful group of people and I am so grateful to have them in my life!

Kailei has always been petrified of the lion and the man in the mask. Every year she trembles in fear and hides. This year she boasted proudly, "I'm not afraid this year!" Well, the minute the men entered the resturant she scurried to the safest place she could find which was Kelly's lap. She proceeded to stay there for the show. However, she did take a picture with the lion and her friends. That is a big step for her.

Happy year of the Ox. May this year be filled with much love, laughter and happiness!
